This optional service will only be used in the event of an on-campus emergency, an unscheduled university closing, or a delay or cancellation of classes due to, for instance, inclement weather. The TigerText text messaging service is just one of the methods the University will use to communicate emergency information to students, faculty, and staff. We will continue to use a variety of other methods as appropriate, including email, telephone and the outdoor warning system.

Assisted suicide and the disabled.
| Reversing a decade long trend, the suicide rate among middle-aged, white Americans, particularly women, is rising. This finding is reported in Mid-Life Suicide, disseminated online by the American Journal of Preventative Medicine. During the 1999-2005 period, the study shows, the rate of suicide for 40-64 year old men rose by 2.7% and 3.9% for women. Rates did not increase in other age or racial groups. |
